Old Testament Class Lesson 4 - Because of My Transgression My Eyes Are Opened

We knew Satan presented his plan before this life and wanted to destroy agency where man can act agents unto themselves. He rebelled against the Father and wanted to get the honor and His power, he was cast out and became the devil, the father of all lies to deceive mankind and have them captive at his will.

He continued on by beguiling Eve to eat the fruit which eventually led to the fall of Adam. The fall was necessary to execute the Plan of Salvation. Of which, Satan didn't realize that he really doesn't have to do anything to stop the work of God since Adam and Eve, before partaking of the fruit, were innocent and couldn't progress further since their knowledge was limited. That fruit opened their eyes and have became wise. They knew what was good and what was evil afterwards.

The fall left the three - Adam, Eve and Satan, consequences of their own transgression and doing. The Lord God cursed Satan above all creatures and dust he shall eat all the days of his life. Unto Eve, the Lord God multiplied her sorrow and conception, and in sorrow she shall bring forth children and her desire should only be to her husband and that her husband shall rule over her. Unto Adam, the Lord God cursed the ground for his sake and by the sweat of his face shall he eat bread.

The fall always goes hand in hand with Christ's Atonement. The atonement was necessary for mankind to be forgiven of their sins and become free from the bondage of the devil and are able to become clean ready to meet their God again through repentance. Adam was taught by God about the importance of baptism. Which is an essential part of repentance. I didn't know that Adam was baptized by the power of God till I joined this church.

When they were cast out of the Garden of Eden, and after bearing sons and daughters, The Lord commanded Adam to offer a sacrifice of the firstlings of their flocks. Adam didn't know that purpose of this sacrifice, but he obeyed. An angel appeared unto Adam after offering the sacrifice and told him that what he was doing was a similitude of the sacrifice of the Only Begotten of the Father.

All the generations of Adam were commanded then to teach their children the importance of repentance and the plan of salvation. That it is the duty of parents.
