Priesthood, which is the authority given by God to man to act in His name here on earth, has been passed down from Adam to the generations that had passed by. Abraham has been longing to have this priesthood from his fathers and he did in turn received it in the office of High Priest. Because of his righteousness, he quickly realized he needed to move out of Chaldea for the very people who lived their and who are in power were mostly wicked.
As is the custom of Egypt, priests offers sacrifices by killing people at the altar for the gods of the Pharaohs of Egypt. Three virgins were taken at the altar for they've claimed their faith to be of the Lord and not to the dumb idols. Abraham himself was also taken at the altar for the priests have discovered his righteousness and accused him for the same reasons. But an angel of the Lord appeared and set him free and killed priests around him and destroyed the dumb idols.
Ironically, Abraham's father was also of the same faith as the people of Egypt serving their idols.
Abraham and the rest of his family was living then in the land of Ur. He was warned by the Lord that He would cause a sore famine that would come to their land because of the people's wickedness. Their were many who died because of the famine including his brother Haran. He was commanded to go to Canaan with rest of his family. His father realized all the wickedness he had done and quickly repented. All of them went to Canaan where the Lord had promised for Abraham and his family and his seed. And later the Abrahamic Covenant was born - the Lord promising to Abraham that he will have numerous posterity as the sands of the sea, that he will receive a promised land and the blessings of the priesthood and the gospel.

Old Testament Class Lesson 6 - Noah ... Prepared an Ark to the Saving of His House
The Ark that Noah and his family built as about 2 football fields long and 4 stories high in preparation for the 40 days and 40 nights of the coming flood. Noah had been preaching about repentance to save the people but they were prideful as to saying "We all have what we need. We have our family and kids and all of us has been prosperous so what can go wrong?" .
The flood came and all living things on earth drowned, except for the ones in Noah's Ark. After the flood, the Lord sets a token that this will never happen again in the form of a rainbow. Once they were out of the Ark, they thanked the Lord and continued to live on. From that time, Noah's generation decided to build a tower high enough that it would reach the heavens so that God would come down and talk to them. So they did. It was a reflection of their pride and they didn't even realize it. They have become one in their goal and the Lord saw this and said, "Let us confound their language so that they won't understand each other". So the Lord confounded their language that they understood not each other. This might have been so chaotic in its sense but in my own thought, the Lord might have confounded their language by family to still continue each family's progress and generations.

Old Testament Class Lesson 5 - If Thou Doest Well, Thou Shalt Be Accepted
Today's lesson was interesting. It centered around Cain and Able.
We do know that there were many who were born as sons and daughters of Adam & Eve. Both of them taught their children to fear God. But Satan asked their children to worship him and they did and they loved him. That's where men became carnal, devilish and sensual. Our first parents were grieved because of their wickedness.
Then Cain was born. A tiller of the ground who had no respect to God. Who loved Satan more than God. Able was born afterwards. A shepherd. Who loved God more than anything. Satan told Cain to do an offering of his firstfruits of the field. And so did Cain gathered the firstfruits of his field and offered it unto God. So did Able offered firstlings of his flocks.
God did not accept Cain's offering but unto Able's he was pleased. The nature of the offering is that it should be an animal, not a fruit, for its symbolic to the shedding of blood for remission of sins. Satan setup Cain to intentionally offer fruits instead of an animal. All offering requires something that has blood. No wonder the Lord God didn't accept his offering. Cain was wroth but God said if he do well, and repent, he will accept his offering and he'll be forgiven. Cain was so wroth, that Satan knew what he wanted him to do next, where he'll end up the Perdition and will become the father of all lies. So Cain killed Able under Satan's direction and denied unto God his act.
Cain then was cursed by God, till now, wandering on the face of the earth, still alive, that whosoever will see him will kill him.
