Old Testament Class Lesson 5 - If Thou Doest Well, Thou Shalt Be Accepted

Today's lesson was interesting. It centered around Cain and Able.

We do know that there were many who were born as sons and daughters of Adam & Eve. Both of them taught their children to fear God. But Satan asked their children to worship him and they did and they loved him. That's where men became carnal, devilish and sensual. Our first parents were grieved because of their wickedness.

Then Cain was born. A tiller of the ground who had no respect to God. Who loved Satan more than God. Able was born afterwards. A shepherd. Who loved God more than anything. Satan told Cain to do an offering of his firstfruits of the field. And so did Cain gathered the firstfruits of his field and offered it unto God. So did Able offered firstlings of his flocks.

God did not accept Cain's offering but unto Able's he was pleased. The nature of the offering is that it should be an animal, not a fruit, for its symbolic to the shedding of blood for remission of sins. Satan setup Cain to intentionally offer fruits instead of an animal. All offering requires something that has blood. No wonder the Lord God didn't accept his offering. Cain was wroth but God said if he do well, and repent, he will accept his offering and he'll be forgiven. Cain was so wroth, that Satan knew what he wanted him to do next, where he'll end up the Perdition and will become the father of all lies. So Cain killed Able under Satan's direction and denied unto God his act.

Cain then was cursed by God, till now, wandering on the face of the earth, still alive, that whosoever will see him will kill him.
